I know what you’re thinking – “Why is he writing anything about World IP Day? that’s like Christmas! Who could possible forget when it is…” But this post is for people don’t necessarily know about it.
World IP Day (WIPD) is celebrated throughout the world every April 26th. It is sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in order to “…to learn about the role that intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright) play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
I know it’s only a few days away but there are some really great events happening all over the world. A complete list can be found on the WIPO site right here, just zoom in on the map to get a closer look at what’s happening in your area.
Since the name of the site is Buffalo IP, I’ll give a special shout out to the law firm Del Vecchio & Stadler LLP. In honor of WIPD they are hosting the Pirate Fight Club at their offices at 500 Washington St., Buffalo 14203. I have zero affiliation with Del Vecchio & Stradler, LLP – I just want to let people know that they are participating in the celebrations on April 26.
